You find yourself aboard a night train through the snowy Alps
Fall asleep inside history. Tonight you are safe and warm aboard a first class sleeping car crossing the Alps, more than a hundred and thirty years ago, on a snowy night in deep January, in the golden age of the sleeping car. A conductor who knows your name, a narrow room of polished mahogany with a washstand that folds away like a magic trick, dinner in the dining car while lit villages slide past far below, a berth made up with heavy blankets, dry snow ticking at the glass, a midnight stop at a mountain station where the lamps glow and nobody hurries, and the long steady rhythm of the rails to rock you down into sleep. The train is on time, nothing goes wrong, and nothing sudden ever happens.
You will hear the long steady beat of the rails, the gentle sway of the carriage, the sound changing over bridges and through tunnels, and dry snow ticking at the dark glass all night long.
This is a three hour sleep story. The narration ends softly around the 39 minute mark, and then the rhythm of the train carries on in the dark until morning. Black screen friendly.
