You find yourself safe in a Viking longhouse as a snowstorm rises
Fall asleep inside history. Tonight you are safe and warm in a Viking age longhouse on a Norwegian fjord, more than a thousand years ago, as the first great snowstorm of winter rises off the sea. Guest right is given at the door, there is stew from a soapstone pot and warm flatbread off the griddle stone, wool and woodsmoke, the animals breathing in the byre at the end of the hall, an old man's quiet true story by the fire, and then the long fire is tucked in under ash for the night while the storm sings over the turf roof and the whole farm sleeps around you.
You will hear the long hearth fire settling in the hall, the animals moving softly in the byre, and a winter storm singing over the turf roof beyond the thick timber walls.
This is a three hour sleep story. The narration ends softly around the 39 minute mark, and then the storm and the embers carry on in the dark until morning. Black screen friendly.
