Kingdoms at Dusk
Fall asleep inside history. Tonight you are safe and warm in a stone lighthouse on a rocky northern coast, more than a hundred and thirty years ago, rowed across in the last calm light of an autumn evening as the keeper's overnight guest. The great lens is lit at sunset, the clockwork is wound, supper waits by the stove, and the beam turns patiently over quiet water all night long. No storm comes. Nothing goes wrong. That is the whole point of a lighthouse, and of this story.
You will hear calm waves washing the rocks below, a steady sea wind around the tower, and the small warm sounds of a keeper's supper and a well kept light.
This is a three hour sleep story. The narration ends softly around the 39 minute mark, and then the sea carries on in the dark until morning. Black screen friendly.
New episodes Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 6pm Eastern. Nights carry you inside an ordinary evening from the past. Tales, every Friday, tell one true story from history, calm enough to sleep to and interesting enough to stay up for.
